Japan a country of islands, extends along the Pacific coast of Asia. The main island is Honshu, and the country has three other large islands—Hokkaido to the north and Shikoku and Kyushu to the south. More than 4,000 smaller islands surround the four largest. About 73 percent of Japan is mountainous, and all its major cities, except the ancient capital of Kyoto, cling to narrow coastal plains.

The weather throughout the four main islands that make up Japan is generally temperate, with four distinct seasons. The weather can get very hot during the summer months. June, July and August are hot and humid and after June the country experiences its wettest months. In the south winters are cool but sunny, but as one moves further north temperatures drop and snow falls. The island of Hokkaido in the far north of Japan is bitterly cold in the winter, with snow guaranteed.


Japan is a constitutional monarchy where the power of the Emperor is very limited. The economy showed strong signs of recovery after 2005. Natural resources is negligible mineral resources, fish. Agriculture resources is rice, sugar beets, vegetables, fruit; pork, poultry, dairy products, eggs; fish. Industries is  among world's largest and technologically advanced producers of motor vehicles, electronic equipment, machine tools, steel and nonferrous metals, ships, chemicals, textiles, processed foods.


Famous festival is New Year, Doll festival star festival and Nagasaki Lantern festival is based in Nagasaki’s China town. Festivals are often based around one or two main events, with food stalls, entertainment, and carnival games to keep people entertained. Language is Japanese and religion is Shinto, Buddhist. Tokyo fish market is very famous. Visit with Japan’s most revered bird, the crane, as it performs its mating dance in the snowy fields of Hokkaido.


Traditionally, sumo is considered Japan's national sport and it is a popular spectator sport in Japan. Martial arts such as judo, karate and kendo are also widely practiced and enjoyed by spectators in the country. After the Meiji Restoration, many Western sports were introduced in Japan and began to spread through the education system.


The Ginza is one of Asia’s shopping paradises. Nearby is the Kabukiza Theater and the Imperial Palace (closed to the public) with its impressive moat and East Garden (Higashi Gyoen). Tokyo Tower affords excellent views of the bay and the space age architecture on Rainbow Town (O-daiba), a reclaimed island. Early risers will enjoy touring the massive waterfront Tsukiji Fish Market. Famous city is Tokyo, Fukuoka, Hakuba, Hiroshima Experience this dynamic modern city and learn about its tragic past, Kobe, Nagano, Nagasaki, Nagoya, Kyoto See beautiful temples, shrines and gardens in the cultural heart of Japan. Niseko ski resort is very famous.
