Czech Republic

Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country borders Poland to the northeast, Germany to the west, Austria to the south and Slovakia to the east. The capital and largest city is Prague.

Winters in the Czech Republic tend to be very cold with snow, while summers are often mild and wet. The best time to visit is from May to September when days are warm and nights cool. The European summer is the tourist high season.

Czech Republic is one of the most economically developed countries of Europe. Economic system in which almost every aspect of economic planning and management came under the control of the central government.

The country has a rich cultural heritage and has given the world some excellent artists. When it comes to music, the three main names that automatically comes to one's mind are Bedrich Smetana, Antonín Dvorak, and Leos Janacek. Mozart, Goethe, Kafka, Beethoven, Einstein, Tycho Brahe and Casanova are only few of the numerous celebrities. The people who live there are friendly, hospitable and endowed with a special sense of humor. The population of the Czech Republic was estimated at 10,220,911 in 2008.

Bohemia, Moravia, Prague, Plzen, Ceske, Budejovice, cesky Krumlov, Telc, Olomouc, Marianske Lazne and Adrspach Teplice Rocks is tourism city. The most important locations - the historic core of Prague, the towns of Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Telc, Litomysl and Kromeriz, the pilgrim church of St. John Nepomuk at Zelena Hora near Zdar nad Sazavou, the Lednice-Valtice area, and the village of Holasovice in southern Bohemia - have deservedly been put on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Among the most beautiful scenic areas are the sumava National Park in the southwest, which takes in the forested mountains and lakes around the headwaters of the Vltava River, the wierd and wonderful rock pinnacles and gorges of the Adrspach-Teplice Rocks in the northeast, and the spectacular caves and underground rivers of the Moravian Karst in the southeast.

Language is Czech and Slovak and religions is Catholic. Natural resources is hard coal, soft coal, kaolin, clay, graphite, timber. Agriculture products is wheat, potatoes, sugar beets, hops, fruit, pigs, poultry. Imports partners is Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Austria,China, Russia, Italy and France.
