Brazil

Brazil is the Federal republic country of Latin America. is a country in South America. It is the fifth largest country by geographical area, occupying nearly half of South America, the fifth most populous country, and the fourth most populous democracy in the world. Brazil has a coastline of over 7,491 kilometers. It is bordered on the north by Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana and the overseas department of French Guiana; on the northwest by Colombia; on the west by Bolivia and Peru; on the southwest by Argentina and Paraguay and on the south by Uruguay.  The country’s capital is Brasília. 

Brazil is the world's tenth largest economy at market exchange rates and the ninth largest in purchasing power. It is a founding member of the United Nations and the Union of South American Nations. Brazil ran record trade surpluses and recorded its first current account surpluses since 1992. Brazil is rich in both resources and manpower. Brazil is a well-known exporter of coffee, beef, sugar cane, soybeans, ethanol, forzen chicken, transport equipment and footwear.

 The climate of Brazil comprises a wide range of weather conditions across a large geographic scale and varied topography, but the largest part of the country is tropical.

 Brazil signed a defense agreement worth more than $12 billion with France in December 2008 as part of an expanding military strategy to protect the Amazon and recently-discovered deep-water oil fields.

 Football is the most popular sport in Brazil.The Brazilian national football team is currently ranked fifth in the world according to the FIFA World Rankings. They have been victorious in the World Cup tournament a record five times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002.
